the heart of the library

the Leichhardt public library is a central branch library coordinating its efforts with its branch library in Balmain it delivers an effect service to the public servicing he needs of the growing population with a large selection of picture books and children's novels for young children as well as more interactive services such as a toy library and as baby and toddler activity groups

the library provides services to the elderly users though the use of large print novels and hsc student by providing study aids near the young adult fiction section and a selection of Italian novels for the waning Italian population 

The Leichhardt library has yet to fully embrace the different opportunities the web 2.0 material although it does have a face book page as well as a library blog written mostly to keep users engaged with what the library its doing 

I believe this is because of the local community and people who use the library, mostly but not exclusively older people who do not tend to be computer savvy and parents with young children who show little interest in the idea
